Since Dreamfit's humble backyard beginnings in 2003, Dreamfit has seen significant growth. The days of working out of a house garage with two or three projects have been replaced with the Dreamplex, a 1,500 square meter workshop. Dreamfit now has 25 projects on the go, involving hundreds of students. The last big project completed, Josiah's Bicycle Engineering Challenge, involved over 200 engineering students from the University.
The Dreamfit Foundation relies heavily on the generosity of volunteers donating their time and passion to the projects they undertake. But as the organization has grown, there was an urgent need for dedicated regular staff to oversee the organisation's running, to coordinate volunteers and manage the many projects that Dreamfit is seeking to undertake. Dreamfit was thrilled to hear that the McCusker Foundation will be funding the appointment of an Operations Manager!
"An increase in capacity will enable us to grow our engineering program, undertake more projects, engage more students and ultimately provide increased support and benefit to the local WA people living with disabilities." Darren Lomman, CEO of Dreamfit Foundation. "This is a major benefit to both the organisation and to the wider community."
